Default Yamaha dtx500 and a roland pd85 v pad ?

i was wondering if a roland pd85 v pad will work for a snare on the dtx500x. has anyone done it before.?

The head function (main part of pad) will work fine, it's the rim sounds that won't work consistently (2nd zone)…personally, I feel the TCS (yamaha silicone) pad is a better option than mesh anyways…it's a little quieter and you'll have three zone functionality with it….
