So you have 2 cymbal pads going into a mono Y splitter, and that splitter going into one channel of the head unit? I don't think that is going to work. The channels is how the unit differentiates the pads. Only way I could see that working is if the head's input is a dual (stereo) input, and you used a stereo Y splitter (2 mono to 1 stereo 1/4"). That's how my Roland e-pad works, it accepts two external pads, but only has one input (stereo).

I do not have the module but looking at the manual, make sure you have a stereo male that y's to two female mono. From there if you go to the manual under chapter 7, "Create you own original drum kits", if you follow the instructions, you should be able to tap the pad, have the module automatically display the pad you tapped, and adcjust/change the voice from there.

Edit:

If the male end is mono also, you won't get two voices out of it ... Like what Fuo said.
