Hey man, I think that it sounds great, especially for your age. Maybe you already adressed this but watch out for your left hand when playing the 16th notes on the hats, it looks very uncomfortable, relax your shoulders and keep your hands low.

Very cool indeed! I've heard your more recent stuff, and it's great, so it's interesting to take a peek at your early stage appearance. I wish I had video of me at that age. Precious stuff. You played really well :)

I'll be honest. You guys sound like kids. Because ..well, you are. That isn't necessarily a bad thing. There's potential there. But go on Youtube and you'll find thousands of young kids playing their ass off. You may get there. But it takes understanding what needs to be improved. The guitarist is out of tune. The singer is off pitch. I can't really hear the bass and the bass is a big part of that song.

You sound good but I get the feeling you're hearing the different parts in their own way and the tempo shifts with each section. One thing about Maiden is their TIME. It's balls-on. Play each section on a pad with a metronome and you;ll see what I mean. Sometimes when you hit the cymbals, the bass drum isn't dead on with it.

These aren't meant to be criticisms -- it's the stuff to watch in order to be more professional. Just hearing praise won't do that.

You're 15, (better than me at 15) and you can be a monster by 19. There's only one way to know -- keep going.

Thank you for watching man. Unfortunelly I've not progressed too much in these years (for various personal reasons), but now I'm all focused again and I'm back studying very hard!

And yeah. Those old vids are really precious!

Hey man, relax, I don't mind being criticized. That's why I posted this video here, I tkink this is the best way to know what you're doing wrong.

Those thousands of young kids you're talking about, are not form this planet! I'm not trying to play like them
Later then. I've started to train a lot with the metronome, so it improved.

Today I'm 18 years old and I've not became a monster (and I think it is far). I am struggling to by 19 I be a great drummer. Better each day!

Thank You

I dunno what captain critical is going on about.... yeah the guitarists out of tune and the singings not the best - since when was that the drummers fault? The bass is missing possibly because the video was recorded on a bad camera with a bad microphone.. they usually are degined for mid range frequencies (ie human voice etc...) And its a band of kids - not really much point pointing out their faults. Im sure they are very aware of their weaknesses.

Another thing about Iron Maiden is their AGE - Clive Burr was about 25 at the time.
The statement "I was 15 at the time" would imply that it was a long time ago, so I dont know what plangentmusic is suggesting - go back in time and have a talk to the guitarist about tuning up I guess. I would imagine the guys got a cheap guitar that goes out of tune really quickly, and most guys like you and I who have done live gigs at an early age know this - cheap equipment is all we can afford, and it sounds shitty. Thats gods way of making you appreciate good gear later :-)

The drumming sounded pretty good for a 15 year old. Im like 40 now but my mum recorded my very first live gig when I was 15... lost the damn tape though unfortunately. We played Sweet Leaf and Symptom Of The Universe by Ozzy/Black Sabbath - those tracks were old even back then :-) But pretty easy to play for a first band... I played ok, but it wasnt great....

And yes there are a million talented youngsters playing some amazing stuff on youtube...
There is always someone better. Best to focus on your talent and skills, because thinking about them and comparing youself will just make you slit your wrists.... It would be similar to posting a running video and another member bringing up the olympic track team.

I get that it was trying to be constructive criticism, but it came out like an adult talking down to a 15 year old kid.

I for one think it was a good video - the drumming was not bad and I hear potential for sure. Practice your wrist rudiments every day and jump on the kit at least twice a week for an hour a time, and yes... metronome work and speed work will make massive changes to your skills. Keep it up :-)
