My favorite sounding kit that I've played but didn't own was a Sonor Delite.
A kit I owned and foolishly sold was a Pearl Masters MHX (african mahogany). Also a few years early I had a Special Edition MHX (pre Masters) that lead me to purchase the Masters version new.
As a young drummer I had a mix kit featuring Slingerland & Ludwig drums and their memory is clear in my mind. They simply kicked butt in the era when young musicians didn't mic up drums and no one could afford the quality P/A gear of the day (VT boxes)(and Crown amps) hahahaha!!!
My Eames Hand Crafted Drums have to be mentioned as top of the line gear especially my 6ply (finetone) set.
To not mention my current YRC set wouldn't be right. I have nothing negative to say about the YRC, they work well right out of the box. Doc

Well I do have my simple little video on my site, and youtube that will give you a taste, but it was done with a flip video camera. I will be brave enough soon now that I have my mikes on the kit to give a good demonstration. This can be a scary place you know. :)

This will be my "retirement" kit, along with the maple sensitive in matching finish, 6.5"x13"... only about 5 years to go.

So glad Yamaha finally put some more finishes on the RCs.

Like that guy even needs stuff like that. On the Modern Drummer 2005 DVD he was using one of those cheap Pearl pedals....and after years of demonstrating his prowess, he says he wants a new kind of pedal that doesn't get in the way of what he wants to play. Sheeesh!

Pretty much any of these, especially Nicko's. I have such a thing for that "Hi-Tech" finish/hardware...

I would love to have a recording custom. The only thing that I could say against them is that I'm not to fond about single lugs. Also, funny how the RC's are the only drums that sounds any open and good with Pinstripes on... it's a mystery.
