What is the word "Keystone" referring to?

So it could refer to the badges as opposed to the blue/olive badges that were on the drums in the 70's and early 80's: http://www.google.com.au/imgres?q=lu...0-PW6Bg&zoom=1 or it could refer to the Keystone series, depending on which context you hear it used in. If you hear someone say, check out my new Keystones, they are probably referring to the series. If you hear someone talking about their late 60's Ludwigs with Keystone badges, they'll be referring to the badge.

In masonry, a keystone is an architectural component, it is a stone in the shape of the Ludwig keystone badge, or a wedge. It holds together all the other stones at the top of an arch. It's the last stone laid.
