Default Dw collectors vs dw Performance

How big a difference Is there between the two? I can get a used collectors series 4 piece for the same price as a new performance. Which way would you go

The Performance is a production line, while the Collector's are custom. That means less options. The Collector's have reinforcement hoops. That's it. I'd take the Collector's, depending on if you like the sizes and finish.

On a DW, it'd come down to finish choice, but I actually prefer the Performance series straight shell's sound.
The smaller lugs appeal to me too.

Between the two, if all else was equal, I'd go collectors.

If you ever decided to sell, you would probably get what you paid for a used collectors on the used market. While a used Performance is obviously going to sell for far less than what you pay for a new performance.

Other than that, it comes down to size and color preference of whatever kits you've found.

If they're the same price, go for the Collector's, as long as it's what you want. No use in paying for a new kit that will lose about half of it's value as soon as you take it out of the store...

Even though I'm not a hugh Collectors fan, I would have to go that route in this particular circumstance.

I would go with the Collectors if they were in the sizes I was looking for. Funky odd sizes will be worth less and maybe not what you would necessarily want.

Which one do you prefer the sound of? The used kit represents a better financial proposition, so long as it's in perfect condition, but that doesn't mean it represents the best choice for you. Go with the sound you like, & consider options from other makers too, unless you're hooked on one brand.
