Trick Throw Off: Whats the big deal?

I've heard alot about Trick Throw-Offs ( like this) What makes them so awesome, aside from looking really slick. I'm looking to making my own snare, and I want to know if the 70 bucks is worth it.

I think they look kind of weird, personally. What makes them so great is that they are solid and feel smooth. Some throw offs have an initial tension and a "catch" that you need to get past for it to release the wires. The Trick throw off is much smoother. It just feels good to use. I put one on my homemade snare, and I'm really glad I did.

It is smooth and quiet operation and it stays put through the heaviest of playing. It is also quiet engaging/disengaging and the handle is easy to get at. It is an excellent comfort feature for a snare drum!
