Fellow Musician Goes Missing

Hi,

I know there are several Los Angeles area people on this site, and a few active in the LA session scene.

A professional violinist was hired for a session at one of the major TV/Movie studios here, but he never showed up to the session, and hasn't been seen since. He is also the father of a buddy of mine, who's a music promoter here in LA.

His family is desperate for information.

LOS ANGELES (CBS) ―

The family and friends are frantic to find their father, a violinist, last seen leaving for Hollywood's Gower Studios.

Police say 69-year-old Robert Alan Korda was last seen Wednesday afternoon at his Van Nuys home.

Family members said Korda was scheduled to work at Gower Studios, but never showed up. They also said it was out of character for Korda to lose contact with his family.

He drives a white Geo Metro, California license plate 3GPJ453.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts can call the LAPD's Missing Persons Unit at (213) 485-5381 or (877) LAPD-24-7.
Please keep an eye out.

Thank you.

That is sad. What in the world could have happened to him?

It appears he died of natural causes.

He was rushed to the hospital, but do to a typo at the hospital, no one had informed the family or put two and two together to realize it was the missing man on the news.

It's not clear why whomever originally called 911 on his behalf did not inform the family, or respond the news coverage of him missing.

Robert Alan Korda went missing on Wednesday after he failed to show up for work at Gower Studios in Hollywood, according to the LAPD.

The musician's body was located Sunday in the custody of the coroner's office, and his death is under investigation.

Korda was found "unresponsive" at a home in Glendale after authorities were notified at 18:46 p.m. Wednesday, said Assistant Chief Ed Winter of the coroner's office. Korda was pronounced dead at a hospital at 19:30 that evening, according to Winter.

There was a delay in linking the missing-person case with the deceased because Korda was mistakenly registered at the hospital as "Norda," said Winter. The correct identification was made on Sunday, according to Winter.

An autopsy was done on the body but the results "are still pending," Winter said. He said the initial investigation indicated Korda died of natural causes.

Really sad that a typo could cause so much duress, on top of an already sad event.
