I put this set together from bits and pieces that I found on E Bay. In some cases it took several attempts before I found a drum with good bearing edges. I stripped and painted them myself.

Man, I like everything about your kit. I like the sizes, I like the colour, I like your cymbals. But mostly I like the fact that that you pieced it together yourself. In fact, the only thing I don't like is the wrinkle in the floor tom head, but that is easily remedied.

The drums are used at church and I'm just a church drummer with what I would consider average chops. I was going for a generic sound on this kit because we want the music to sound like what the congregations listens to on the radio. Pretty boring stuff I agree. I fool around with funk and some jazz when I want more excitment. I'm thinking of piecing together another kit (maple shells) tuned a bit higher and with more personality.

Wow. That look awesome. How does that Zildjian K Dark Crash sound?

Thanks! That K Dark Crash is actually one of the brightest sounding cymbals I've owned. I had a Avedis 16" Thin Crash for a while and the two cymbals sounded similar. It has medium sustain because it is so light and not very large. Its a great contrast to the A Customs. Its pretty thin and I sometimes worry about breaking it. It wasn't what I thought it would be when I bought it, but I loved it anyway. It doesnt sound like regular K Dark crashes at all.

Can you answer a question for me? I'm pretty new to the fourm. Is subscribing to my own thread the only way to find my posts? Also, I'd like to view your setup. How do I find it without sorting through four pages of stuff.

That is a fantastic looking kit! Great job on putting it together and painting it! Does that Rogers snare have gold hardware? Whats the finish on it? Looks good

Thanks much! The snare does not have gold hardware. It is all chrome. My brother bought it new for about $125 and then gave it to me so I think its just a plain old inexpensive snare drum. I cant find any markings onit other then the Rogers logo.

Hey whoa, I have a 16" Zildjian Avedis Thin crash right now! What are the odds? :)

I'm actually new to the forum myself, so I have no idea how to help you ;S

Tell me about the Meinl. Is that a powershifter double pedal?

Gear looks great. I especially like the way the lights look on the A Customs and even on the Evans head. Very cool indeed.

Very nice! New Beats are great hats. I just bought a Masters MCX (maple) kit last week and I'm quite taken with it...looks and sounds great...and the quality is unbelievable. Pearl must have paranoid QA people working the factory floor.
