Hi hat under ride

you should be able to fit them both on most stands. what brand of stand did you try it with? I know both my tama and pearl stands could fit doubled cymbals. does the bottom bell stick out too far to fit the top over it?

I've been thinking about making a custom stud that is longer than stock, for just your problem.
I do have a regular hi-hat mounted on a boom stand, it just barely fits. It won't work with the wuhan china.
It would be nice to have something that either replaces the current stud, or just screws to the existing threads. Shouldn't be hard to make something.

Yeah im pretty sure that is exactly what would fix my problem, tell me if you do end up making one of those, do you have any ideas for a short term fix though?

I don't have a remote hat but I have an X-hat. One of those may work.

The Ive got the Wuhan 20" china and it does have a massive bell. I doubt you'll get two cymbals on it. My bell is also slightly uneven (due to low quality control I imagine) so it wont lie flat how I want it.

How about this get a nut similar to this:
http://www.mcmaster.com/#93355a105/=36dxy4
The thread on my gibraltar stand is 8mm x 1.25

screw that onto your stand after the lower cymbal is on.
then screw a stud like this into that:

(hit product specification on the left if it doesn't show the picture)

put on the top hat and maybe an upside down sleeve and felt and your original wingnut.

Let us know if you do it and if it works!
