Yeah, the drummer for Korn. Surprised there was no mention of him in this section of the forum. What do people think of him?
I think he's great. He shows some flair in Korn's older stuff. Porno Creep is a cool song, some of the fills he does are pretty nice and creative, and the buzz rolls are cool to get lost in.
Haven't been listening to Korn's newer stuff, but don't really want to. The older music is good up to about Issues.

Does anyone know what snare he used for Life is Peachy?????

I saw him live 1 year and a half ago.very bad timing.I guess he isnt able to handle that job anymore since the untouchables era.Terry Bozzio is fillin in...dunno if you ve read about it.

I think hes great. He isnt your average metal drummer. He rarly uses double kicks and there are a lot of jazz elements in his drumming.

He isnt amazing but he gets the job done, and his timing is fine im not sure what your talking about.

I agree, I think David lost some of his groove after he injured his wrist.

I love the way he often makes those metal beats really funky.
The Follow The Leader album has killer groove; plus he's got some nice fills on songs like "F@g#t" from their self titled album.

El-Oh-El. Bad timing my a**!

I saw Korn last August and David was with them then. I know that he is on a personal hiatus right now but the word is that he will be back in time for the next Family Values Tour after the new album is released later this year.
Personally I think he is great drummer, my favorite groocve is probably a toss up of Got the Life and Here to Stay.

i like his style.. hes not one of those metal dummers who put double bass everywhere.. really a unique style..

I love this groove.. simple, but impressive for me..

Hi all !

I'm back ! ^^
It was a long time I hadn't come here !

David Silveria is my favorite drummer. I love is game, yes, really simple for some, but effective ! I've never see him in live, but I hope that day will come soon !

I've seen Korn just one time : 18 june 2007, but it was Joey Jordison on stage.
It make me sad ... :'( !

For all the DS fans, contact me to speak about him, and to exchange information about that great drummer !

Silveria is awesome drummer... So simple but if you try to play that, you will see that its not THAT simple... hehe But, can anyone tell me why on drummerworld.com is nothing about Jukka Nevalainen, drummer of Nightwish. Noone can say that he is bad drummer. He is fast [not that fast like Joey Jordison but... who is?:D], he is great drummer.

anyone know what snare he used in life is peachy?? please?

I'm guessing he used a 3.5"x14" Pearl brass free-floating snare on that album, I'm not sure. But I can tell by the sound it was definitely a piccolo.

On the self-titled he used what appears to be a green Yamaha Maple Custom (and not a Pearl kit, as all the fansites say) with the same Pearl snare, then I think it was just before the recording sessions for Life Is Peachy he switched to Tama.

Hi all!
I totally agree with Lerimed. David's Drumming is not simple... listen to the old stuff like 'Korn' or 'Life its Peachy', pay attention to the details and try to play the parts. Honestly it is not simple at all!
I have been playing drum for 8 years and I enyoy listening very technical drummers such as Portnoy (even if I'm not a Dream theater fan), Danny Carey(Tool) or Gene Hoglan (Death, Fear Factory...) and when I listen Korn after that I don't feel like I'm going back to a simple drumming. David is skilled but his technicality is more discreet. I 'm thinking for instance about his use of ghost notes (Porno creep, Chi), his great timing mastering which enables him to play with the rhythm speed (check out the twisted breaks of ‘Fake’) his abstemious but extremely dynamic use of double bass, his very fast moving from one piece kit to the other (it is easier to realize that when you see him playing on stage and I advise to watch him performing 'Fagget' in the DVD 'The family values tour' )
For me, David stands among those underrated drummers such as Abe Cunnigham from Deftones. They don't show off their skills, don't play solos, they are often discreet person and discreet member of the band, but if you really pay attention to their playing you 'll discover great drummers with great expressiveness and creativity!

It is pretty cool to come accros a forum about Siveria and see that other people really appreciate his drumming;)

Yeah man! Silveria's is very technical but subtle on the first few albums, same with Cunningham. Cunningham's technique has always been subtly technical as well. They're both MASTERS of the ghost note
