IF you go to the recent Tama thread,
you`ll see my pictures.
I didn`t want to "Double Post" the same pictures twice.

I'm using the Coated Amb X right now and love them.
Haven't really tuned them "high" at all. These drums are built using the lowest fundamental pitch these shells can have. Don't think they'd register very well up in a "high" tuning. I'm sure they'd be nice sounding but, a horizontal ply shell will sound much better in the higher tuning range.

This might not be a 'monster' kit amoung true 'monster' kits but for me it's big enough - I usually play a 4pc kit.
This is what my Purewood African Mahogany 6pc Gretsch kit evolved to a couple of years after I bought it. I bought it new in 2007 - one of only two shellpacks available to Canada. They had to be ordered/sent from the Factory in Taiwan. There were only 60 shellpacks made for world-wide sale. They are incredibley nice drums and I stack them up to Gretsch Custom USA any day....I can say that because I have a new Custom USA kit and three Vintage Gretsch kits.

The photo was taken in 2009 - I don't have the rack (Gibraltar DBL Bass Rack) I traded it for some new Gibraltar Jazz Series stands and I love them.

I added the Remo Roto toms that I've had since I bought them new in the early 70's - 12/10/8 and I added a 6 a couple of years ago. The lighter drum on the far right is a Gretsch Mighty Mini snare.

My "Little" Monster Kit............

That's a beautiful kit, but it's really not Monster. To me, that's 9 pieces and up. 5 to 8 is mid sized.

Ya - I know,
But the first post did say at least 7 - so I threw mine in the mix.

I could add Elvin Jones 16 FT....and a couple of other orphan toms and auxillary snares to fit the bill.

There are some nice kits on the thread.....fun to play I'll bet.

Its not really a monster in my book, but it is 7 piece...

Wow, there are some absolute BEASTS in this thread!

Hello everyone, I'm new. On saturday, for the first (and only) time I set up all my drum gear at once. I found having 5 splashes was pretty useable (we did a Porcupine Tree cover so they came in handy...) but having 4 snares was pointless, as you can probably tell from that fact that one of them was being used for a camera stand... 2 will do me!

Drums are Yamaha Oak Customs, snares are various. You can see where my cymbal tastes lie...

I love seeing people's big kits, so please post some pics of yours!
The first kit is me in the mid 70s. Numerous random brands, stripped and covered in white Mac tac (Self adhesive shelf paper) with a hand drawn design K went through countless black magic markers and it took forever lol). The second kit is my current precious. Monolith fiberglass kit, 14x5 1/2 snare, 8x8, 8x10, 10x10, 12x12, 13x13, 14x14, 16x16 toms, 20x20 kick, and 4 medium off brand Octabons for fun 😀. Just love viewing and learning about all these kits. Thanks much to all who have shared ❤️🤘🥁Screenshot_20221202_001218_Facebook.jpgScreenshot_20221202_000850_Facebook.jpg

Here are the latest two pics of my setup. Haven't played it since Juli this year since we left that studio and are still on the lookout for a new rehearsal space. To say that i miss playing this is a huge understatement! Never got around to incorporate the 13" tom i got, but here's to finding a new space in 2023 :)
