DTX snare pad question

Hello,

Can the DTX snare pad be used as a Tom pad? Is there anything specific in the pad itself that makes it more for snare, like the feel of the pad?

I know that pads can be interchangeable, but not sure if it changes the feel or makes it harder to play?

someone mentioned that the toms are only single zone but i don't think that's accurate.

anyone know the difference between the two pads?

The snare pad has a different feel to it..it's based on how Yamaha makes the pad..I believe the snare pad has less (air) holes in the mix of the silicone, which gives a little firmer feel to it..and also it has some kind of shock absorbing feature built into the under carriage, whereas the tom pads do not have that feature…all of the TCS pads are three zone except the new 7" pads, which are single zone, so whoever gave you that info was incorrect..
