Budget Drum Thrones

Folks, did a quick search and the threads mainly deal with top end drum thrones.

I have a kit in a rehearsal studio that I use from time to time and transport to gigs around London. I have a DW9000 drum throne at home but it is massively heavy and it never goes anywhere, which is just as well.

So what I really want is an occasional throne, that will last and is reasonably comfy, defo sturdy but reasonably light as well. Round style is good.

So this isn't about the best - this is a kit that I play and gig and sits in a cage most of the time. Key features light, sturdy and easy to assemble.

Examples that spring to mind are:
  • Gibraltar 5608
  • Mapex 500

I'm not familiar with those two, but you can purchase a DW 5000 throne for about $100 USD. Most of Tamas mid-line thrones are about the same price or a bit lower.

I ended up doing something different - I ordered a Silverstone throne.

OMG can't wait ...
