I love all drum sets, whether they're used for rock, jazz, pop, funk, or anything in between, but I have a special appreciation for METAL KITS!!! I love the hardcore kits, they're the best, the bigger the better! I play metal, and I consider my kit to be pretty metal, but I wanna see some of your guys' kits! Here's a few pics of my kit, but lets see some of yours!

So. You are the one guy that bought the Zildjian Pitch Black cymbals?

Guys come on, he asked for people to share pictures of their kits, not criticism about his choice of cymbals.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I'm 6ft 4in tall, and therefor have pretty long arms. Also, I don't use the hats on the left that much, I use the ones on the right, next to the ride as my primary hats.

I have a 8 piece kit but i can't play with three rack toms. The hat's don't sound bad on your youtube videos.

Specially for you JLPD i am going to look at youtube. But only this once. Well for the video i only watched the main one. It's pretty good, you're doing well in terms of playing. The cymbals don't sound as bad as i was expecting actually but you can definetly tell they're being choked by that black finish without a doubt.

well here's mine since no-one has actually bothered to put any metal kits in yet:

Specs? Okay then:

12x11 tama SC performer rack tom
14x14 TAMA SCP floor tom (suspended)
13x11, 16x16, 22x16 drums which are no name and cost me nothing apart from whatever price the camo fabric was lol.
22x16 TAMA SCP Kick drum with a bit of muffling in terms of a pillow,
16x15 Premier resonator floor tom (i sold this now because it doesn't really match the kit XD)
14x5.5 SANTAFE custom snare handmade in valencia spain in case you were wondering.

Zildjian 14" fast crash/ORION solo pro hihats
Zildjian ZBT 16" crash
PAISTE 502 12" splash which i had to fix.
Zildjian Z custom 18" medium crash
Zildjian ZBT 20" ride
Zildjian ZXT titanium 18" china.

Don't ask about the stool i'm getting a new one.
DW 5002 double kick pedal, 5000hihat pedal and some cheap pedal that was part of those drums i got for 50p lol.

Yea, nice kit man! That camo is awesome! Also, the cymbals are choked a bit by the finish, but to be honest, I love them! I like that bit of choking, and I just like the rougher sound they give.

Ah sweet kit man! Looks awesome, i bet it's a pain dismantling that for gigs lol!

haha well i'm not doing any gigs atm but if i was i'd just take the starclassic drums, the 16" floor tom, snare, 2 crashes, hats, china and ride cymbals with me. So really it'd just be a pretty bog standard 5pc neutron kit. This setup was really just for laaughs although i wouldn't mind a couple of extra small rack toms, the 13" was just too much though you can't position it nicely above the kick drum without it being a stupid angle. In fact if any1 is interested i did a mock up of sort of my ideal set up on kitconstructor.

This would of course only be going to gigs if we got to the stage where we could hire roadies and that lol.

heh, this what I use with my death metal band. not a very "metal" set up, I guess. :)
the set up's the same in both pictures, just different drums. I used the S-Class to record, and I use the Rockstars for gigs.

Seriously? You play death metal on that? That's really cool, I love drummers who can do a lot with so little. Got any vids? I'd love to see some!

No video, but we have some songs from our new album on the myspace. The set up in the first pic is exactly what I used to record with.

The link's in my sig.

Wow i love that camo kit :). also wow! its awesome to know that someone is talented enough to play death metal on a lil jazzy bop kit, thats talent right there :D! Heres My BLX kit, its metalish i surpose :) hope you's like it.

Very cool set and I really dig how you play open. It is rare to see someone play open with right hand hats and ride, with the ride AND hats on the right! I would love to see some video of you playing.

I invite you to join the Open Handed Players group. I don't think we have anyone with your particular open style.
