buying skins in bulk

has anyone ever bought drum skins in bulk? .. Im looking to save some pennys and I reckon that enough drummers at my uni would be happy to chip in and get some coated evans skins. does anyone know how to go about this and how many you have to get for it to be a bulk buy?

They sell packs if that's what you mean.

You would have to get in touch with a dealer to see what they would do. I'm sure Evens would not be of much help since they sign agreements with the dealers to buy wholesale.
And that may require a retail sales license.

Unless you plan on buying enough heads for a lifetime, you aren't going to save a significant amount.

Not to mention your taste in heads will always be changing.
