Auction For All Of You Neil Fans

Actually the fact that it is wrapped is what is bugging me.

I just thought of something else.
Who would want a 23 inch bass drum?

Love Neil and that's a great kit but I'd rather have this one

Its actually the perfect size. Feel close to a 22, sound close to 24.
It was a joke!
I understand the reason for Neil playing that size drum.
This whole thread is a joke.
Neil playing at the Buddy Rich Memorial Concert was a cruel joke.
Someone paying over $10,000 for that kit is a joke!

We should all boycot Dale's for having the nerve to put that kit up on eBay for that price.
It is an insult to the memory of Buddy and to all of the great drummers who played at that show.

That drum kit should be auctioned off for charity with the price starting at what it cost to make at DW. As Bob said it's an embarassment and only lends itself to someones greed, the seller, and someones stupidity, the buyer. The performance was poor.

I agree with the Mayor.
That kit should be auctioned for charity.
That would make it worth it.

Perhaps Neil will wait til the last seconds of the auction and buy the kit so that it looks like a fan bought it! ;)
Please remember that this thread is all in good fun.
Let's not get ugly.

In all seriousness. To buy that kit new, which I would never do, in Canada would probably be about 8 thousand dollars, before tax, from DW, as a special order.

I figured about the same price for new too.
I don't like all the gold hardware. It's too much!
That kit used is worth about $5000 in this poor economy.

Yes too much bling for me also. Never been a fan of anything Gold. Even my wedding ring is white gold.

I don't have $10K to spend on a drum set of any kind, but I don't think it's a crazy price when you consider the intangibles. I admired this kit the first time I saw it because I think it looks nice and the modern take on a classic look appeals to me.

And we have a bidder! 14 minutes to go!

Bob, I think you're right: it's some pissed off jazz drummer who going to just burn the frigging thing! (either that or it's Neil...)

It is a Jazz player who is also a forum member.
He just PM'ed me and he invited me to his house next Sat night for a bonfire!!
He was bidding against Neil.
Sold for $12,100 USD
