Fetchingly aged FEMALE DRUMMER!!! - Soundscape

This is where that "LIKE" button would come in handy!!!

I might add "enticingly clever, hysterically funny" to your post title though...

I think I picked up on all your nuances. I love the relationship of sounds to the history story. The use of didgeridoo has obvious Australian connections, but aside from that, I loved the affect on the piece when it came in. The timbre of that instrument is fantastic, especially in the context of this piece. It's not difficult to see why the indigenous peoples found it enticing & haunting.

On a side note, I'm not sure if others have picked up on the blatant (& very amusing) use of gender marketing in your post title :)

Ha! ...I noticed this link at work on Friday on the "Spoon" thread, when I came home it has disappeared, I'm glad to see it back here :)

Mmmh.... History of Australia, seems to be a scary place to live, very spooky indeed.

But it's as good as your previous attempt, as dark ambient soundscape, it does the trick perfectly, and this time the video editing add to the atmospheric vibe too...

... I agree with Bo's comment though :)

I don't know if it's the aged female drummer description, but you have a spooky voice in this piece of music... makes me wonder if this is actually a real picture of you!!! :)

*incidentally, I watched the last "Underworld" film last night, so I'm still in the right mood*

Keep doing this, this is interesting!

I would like to hear more "dark" stuff, maybe based on some darker things than Australia's history(even if it's kinda dark :p).
Maybe a bit less drummy, and more flowy. Experiment with the sounds you got, instead of introducing new sounds.

Also, nice thread title :p

@ Thanks ID, definitely not wanting to take it all too seriously. I need something that at least amuses me a bit to feel the zing.

@ Geez Bo, haven't been near that stuff for 30 years. I don't need it *weird grin*

@ Harry, it's scary alright - I lasted 10 mins before the heebie jeebies got too much. But please post more links. Here's a more accessible live clip of John Zorn but it still has tons of edge: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arCDeEv_nHw

@ Andy, yes, when a didge breaks the silence it has an incredible effect. It's a popular device in Australian movies set in the desert. Unfortunately most times you hear them for real it buskers trying to cut through street noise.

@ Henri, my voice is so spooky I sacked myself from backup vocs with the band and we've been a better band for it. Not kidding. So now my vocal tracks all consist of tasteful silence. Enjoyed that first Underworld movie too.

@ Thaardy, as a modern ambiance noob all advice is helpful. Yes, the first two tunes were pretty hyperactive. The Ambivalent Abyss track is an exciting piece - Favourited - thanks!

@ Mikey - nice ideas ... might have to find David Attenborough's polar documentary to get in the mood ... background music for a TV chef? lol

Just uploaded another, if anyone's interested, Mosquito at Night. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRzUek0DS44
