Dan Mayo (born 1990) is an Israeli drummer, composer and educator, best known as the drummer of TATRAN,a power-trio with Tamuz Dekel on guitar and Offir Benjaminov on the bass.

This guy is too damn good to be true, i don't even know how to describe his style, take a look at some of his best videos and judge by yourself:

Great chops, but way too much noodling for me. I didn't get very far into the first 2 videos. His playing is astonishing, but not engaging.

What's your thoughts about the other videos?

Okay, I watched a little bit of the Utilitarian. Again, I recognize everyone's technical skill, it's just not the kind of material I enjoy listening to.

To each his own i would say :))
Anyway, i think he deserve to be profiled on Drummerworld.com

Good for him for not doing what everyone else is.

He's got a lot of ideas, his brain is firing on all 8 for sure.

And it's not to a click!

I like it for that alone, not even mentioning his "off the beaten path" ideas, the effortless flow from his mind to his hands, and his scary execution.

It's great to see someone do this. Commercially speaking, I can't see it taking off, but on the creative side of things, it's inspiring.

Cool stuff, thanks.

Edit: watched a few more, this guy's got it going on.

Enjoyed the overall musicality of the group.

Same here. Great technical ability. Just don't want to listen to it.

Some cool stuff with the band, not exactly my taste or what I would choose to listen to but kudos to a fantastic drummer and great band. Like jam band music stepped up a notch.

I can't stop watching this new video

I think he's really finding his voice and groove - he sounds so much better now than he did when this thread first popped up.

I see him daily thanks to A&F constantly pushing his video out there haha.
