Hi !

I just got a very nice LP ES-5 cowbell and I would like
to put it on my bass drum hoop. The problem is the LP
bracket looks very cheap / not solid and I also don't want
to scratch / ding my new drum... So any help is welcome...
I was looking at the meinl cowbell mount, but is it as well
made as it looks ???

Thanks !!

Any input is welcome...

Not to be a picky nerd, but that is actually a mambo bell...

Not to be even a pickier nerd but the ES-5 pictured above by Phil is a Salsa Timbale cowbell (the "Salsa" on the bell kind of hints at it). LP's Mambo bell, the 229 is a completely different bell and is a black finish.

All of those LP bells say Salsa on them though don't they? But in my experience a flatter bell is always a mambo bell. I guess for marketing and advertising sake they may call it something else, but a mambo bell is different from a bongo-bell or a cha-bell and there is no such thing as a "salsa" bell. If there is, I'd like to understand the difference... Salsa is ostesibly what they began calling mambo when it came to New York and began taking on a livlier sound than traditional son music.

It may seem silly, but its little things like this which help maintain thr validity of otherwise "trivial" accoutrements from other genres. I realize it doesn't really matter, but I like to at least sound like I know what I'm talking about.

Hey thanks everyone for your help !!
I don't know if it's a salsa or mambo bell
but it sound sooooo nice with a lot of sustain ; )

I could not find the Meinl of Ludwig in Canada
so I just order the Pearl CA-100... Looks very solid...

Thanks !
