Recording Drums With Steve Albini

Loved it! Great watch / listen. Sure debunks the "source sound quality isn't that important / you can do anything with processing in a studio" arguments. Additionally, many players often forget there's a big difference between recording drums such that the drums sound good on their own, & recording drums such that they sound good in the total recording context. A good engineer / producer absolutely has the end goal in mind from the start - something many drummers would do well to adopt too.

Oh, & I'm a big fan of C22's :)

Thanks KamaK!

Does anyone know if this is the same studio as 25 years ago in Chicago?
I remember it being in a house.

Also, I'm using that figure 8 Beyer mic and I would never have thought to put it inside the drum. It's very boomy. I guess it's true about taking the time to experiment. I'm such a procrastinator.
