any list that doesn't include Polly is an obvious sham.
she should be #22 on this list.
I looked at it twice, and I don't see Nigel Olsson on there, man, I was listening to old Elton John songs last night, and I just love fills Nigel did on the slower songs in particular, like " someone saved my life tonight" am I wrong ? plus he played Premier drums. !
Much better to call it "100 most popular drummers" cos that is what it is.
exactly, the order here has really no good meaning to it, but........What baffles me is there is no criteria used.
Some are clearly higher on the list for technical ability, while others are ranked for importance in rock-n-roll history, and while others are for a combination of the two.
I mean, they have Mick Feetwood at 76. From a technical point of view, he's not even in the top 1000. From his impact on music as band leader, he's top 10.
But like Polly said, It's just a great big list of great drummers to check out.
any list that doesn't include Polly is an obvious sham.
she should be #22 on this list.
Totally agree, on that list #22 is taken by Steve Smith... ppffft, everyone knows too well that Polly's a much more all rounded and versatile drummer than he is

Lists like these are pointless. Popularity doesn't mean the drummer is that great. Lars Ulrich is in the highest selling Metal band of all time and he is a total noob on the drums, yet his popularity is high amongst the ignorant.
I'd say the definitive list is right on the front page of Drummerworld.

And they still miss out on Prairie Prince. Listen to the guy

He must have run over someone's cat or something because he seems to miss a lot of Best Of lists.
Thank god Sticks has been gagged. Peart at number 1......man, I couldn't stand to hear the grandstanding.......he'd be skiting til our ears bleed.
Oh geez. First place? Really? Out of all the amazing drummers out there, this dolt takes first place? He's a good drummer, but I really don't need to see the rest of the list if he's ranked number one. I'll really only look at a list if Travis Barker is placed first and all is right with the world.
I don't know what's worse, Canadians, or Australians. Yes, Aussies are criminals, but some of the things Canadians are into should be against the law(Like the singing in Rush). I should make a list so it will be official which geographical areas are most easy to poke fun at.
