My new jazz kit.

Just thought I'd share pics of my new jazz kit.

Am currently saving for a new tama but needed a wee jazz number to play/record and rehearse with my quartet.

I changed the evans heads to remo ones. I'm not a big fan of evans personally.

I have ordered an 18" ambassador bass head so I'll be replacing the muffled one once that gets here. Though with the muffled head (which i guess is like a powerstroke3) you get a really controlled bass sound so I may be keeping it to change heads for different gigs.

Strange things though...one of the floor tom leg holders is really stiff and required quite a lot of effort to get the leg in and out. It seems to have been made too tight.

And one of the hanging toms tension rods was just about long enough to reach the lug....only just.

I haven't got a new kit in years so I'm like a kid at xmas. Can't wait to give it a twirl on Monday night at rehearsal.

P.S i actually posted this thread in the drum gear section by mistake so if a mod could delete that'd be great.

a very sweet set of blonde's man, how about the cymbals though? a sweet ride? and the hats? enjoy the new kit!

That looks sweet, I love these kits.. I wouldnt mind having one. I was between the club mod and the club jazz, but the mod won. Now I wonder what could have been......

Beautiful.

Twenty times better than my kit.

You should get some Paiste Twenties.

20.

Nice! I've been thinking about getting a kit like that also! I've been torn between Gretsch and Pearl. Someday I'll make up my mind, Face the wrath from my wife, and go for it! LOL!
Steamer has persuaded me to get some Agop's to go with it. If I do that I'll really be a dead man!

Cheers guys. Just tried them at a session tonight and they were great. My suspicions were correct though. The bass isn't open enough with the clear and muffled head . Anyone any tips on how to remove a muffling ring/gasket from a head?

Cymbals

The ride is an a sweet ride. I am fresh out of cash (struggling musician and all) and already have 3 kits and 2 bags of cymbals. A 'jazz' set is on the list.
The sweet is great for everything except jazz. It doesn't open up quick enough so the sizzle has helped.

The hats are very old k's. From at least the 70's. So i think they're pretty jazzy.

Throne

Cheers wy yung. Had that thing for years. Still going strong.

Cheers guys

Dave
