Existe una conexión entre hablar español y 1970 de rock pesado? :)

Bravo Polly!! Quanto tiempo le trado escribir eso mate?

I suppose I should translate to be polite to all you uncultured lot...

Mira Che! Eres un hombre de buen gustos amigo.

Trans: Look Che! You are a man of good tastes!
"Che" is a Spanish diminutive interjection (a vocative expression) commonly used in Argentina. A form of colloquial slang used in a vocative sense as "friend", and thus loosely corresponds to expressions such as "mate", "pal", "man", "bro", or "dude"; as used by various English speakers.(Wikipedia)

Gracias hermano! y tu eres un vergatario (lo máximo, supremo) a lo Venezolano....me hiciste reir!!!

Trans: Thank you brother! and you are a vergatario (the best, supreme) to a Venezulan... you made me laugh.

Trans: Is there a connection between speaking Spanish and 70's heavy rock?

Polly, actually that should read "Rock pesado DE 1970" I understood, very impressed.

Ok, back to our regularly scheduled thread before one of these angry golf playing drummers from Phoenix call INS on us...

Amenaza Roja, hice trampa.

Very good Polly! you are a supreme. That's it, we like hard rock a lot, and heavy metal as well. (eye picked) You are half Venezuelan and half Argentinian + Aussie = dangerous mix.

Ian, I'm guessing you are saying that I am a pizza ... in Spanish it seems that I'm Vegetarian and in English I'm a Supreme (with anchovies?) :)

If I was choosing my top 5 albums as a teen about 35 years ago it would be something like this:

Machine Head
Pinups
Black Sabbath
Led Zep 1
DP in Rock

Cómo cambian los tiempos!

I love those Purple albums, Black Sabbath the 1st? that one has a touch of dark blues, Pinups? please refresh my mind, from which band? LZ I - tha's a master-piece.

...Ian to the waitress: Please I want a crunch Vegetarian Supreme Pizza + a cold beer! ;]

Si es cierto! A dónde se han ido los buenos tiempos! Where have all the good times gone...

Congrats, keep practising Spanish. You are quick learner!

It's funny. I have almost no interest in hard rock these days but when I hear the old Purple, Sabs etc it always gives me a nostalgia buzz.

Yep, I was really keen Sabs's first album, especially the title track ...
What is this that stands before me?
Figure in black that points at me
Turn round quick and start to run
Find out I'm the chosen one ... OH LORD NO!!
All with that spooky bell and then ... BAM! LOL - love it! Pure B-grade horror schlock. When I started reading The Exorcist I went into my room, turned off the lights and lit candles, sparked up a doobie, turned on Sabs Vol 1 and lay back reading ... waaay too much fun :)

Pinups was David Bowie playing old covers with a crack band including the mighty Aynsley Dunbar. Heaps of great covers - Here Comes the Night, See Emily Play, I Wish You Would, Sorrow (my band plays the Bowie version), Friday On My Mind, Don't Bring Me Down, Shapes of Things - it rocks!

Ian ...oops, we'll have to knock one of those albums / bands out of my teen list. I forgot that I went totally nuts over Queen in 1973 after seeing this clip on a Saturday morning music show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPe0hhyUCx0

I saw them playing live from the front row a few years later and I'm not sure any show before or since made me happier. Can't forget Queen when talking about classic hard rock acts.

WOW!!!...Thanks Polly! for bringing this song out of the old classic rock chest.

You and Queen just blew me away with LIAR, that song is from Queen I, isn't it? The four of them (Freddie, Brian, John & Roger) were amazing, brilliant.

The rhythmic marriage between John and Roger must be one of the greatest back in the 1970's...really like the open-hand playing of the cowbell and hi-hat entry, basic drum triplet, fills and quick drum solo, voice and guitar.

I hope you like it:
