mapex raptor vs gibraltar intruder

I'm in the market to buy a new pedal. I'm choosing the direct drive just because I love the feel under my foot. But I'm in a bit of a dilemma......I'm not sure which to choose between these two. I played the raptor and its superb but wasn't able to play the intruder. Which is the better pedal and which would give me the best band for bucks? Thanks

I would suggest finding an intruder and try it, if you cannot find one then go with the Raptor.

here is what Jared Falk has to say about the Intruder

But what works for him, me may not work for you. Any good music store or drum shop should set up any pedal they have to see if you like it or not before you buy.

Thanks for the link to the vid. I've read different reviews about the gibraltar rubbing against the kick drum head but at the same time a few reviews about the raptor saying the slave linkage has a gap in it. I see the gap but does it make a big difference in performance?

If it was my choice I would go with the Mapex Raptor or Falcon. The Gibraltar is mediocre at best. The Falcon and Raptor are very smooth and a quality pedal at a very reasonable cost.

For about the same cost you could get one of these. Super smooth, nice and responsive just a GREAT pedal. I have one on my new kit and one on a kit at church. I prefer this over my DW9000 single.

I've seen the Gibraltar ones and put my foot on them once, not overly impressed compared to other offerings out there. But everyone is different when it comes to what feels good.
