Evans G2, nice warm tone and durable
I'm a Remo Emperor/Powerstroke III man but I've tried the G2s and I liked them. I might go Evans when it comes to replacing my batters. Anybody done G2 over Ambassadors?
I don't like the G1s though - my kit came with them and it felt like I was playing on tin foil. Far too thin.

Hmmmmmmm.
Coated G2s as batters with G-Pluses as resos. This is on mounted toms only. I like the resonance without the ringing, that's why I go with this combo. But they are more livelier and not as dead sounding as EC's, PC's or Hydros. I play with 5As for what it's worth.

On the snare it's got to be G2, Onyx both with G1 resos or if we are venturing into Remo territory then I'll have to say Pinstripe, Ambassador and Emperor X and also Emp X's and G2's on toms sound great to me.
I've been curious what putting a tom head on a snare would sound like? Such as the Evans Hydraulic which right now i'm loving the sound of on my toms.

I've got Onyx on my Superstars. Sounds amazing even with the stock reso heads.
