Sami Kuoppamäki

Anyone here a fan of Sami Kuoppamäki? He played with the band Kingston wall in the late 80s/early 90s and I've always appreciated his playing. I can't find much on him but I figured maybe there were some fans of his on here. He's very diverse, playing anything from jazz to power metal, and his playing on the Kingston wall albums always seemed to fit the music perfectly.

I've seen him live and talked to him a few times. Indeed a phenomenal drummer!

I don't know how well known he is in the "big" world, but here in Finland you naturally cannot play the drums and not have heard of him :)
And he plays KUMU drums, Finnish craftmanship at its best!

I just looked up Kumu drums, they are amazing looking and sounding drums. I always loved the sound of his kit. I think he's a prime example of a guy that can take a simple 4 piece kit and make it sound huge. The amount of creativity he shows in his playing with such a simple kit is very inspiring to me.

I went to school with Sami back in 1990 at PIT in Hollywood... Fantastic drummer and nice guy..I'm proud of him and sure glad for his success!
