My Sonor S Classix (black silver glass glitter)

Here's my kit. It's not the full set-up in these pics. I left out the cymbals. I'll be adding a second bass drum, another floor tom and a 12x5 side snare. When I have those I'll update with the full set-up.

If you're wondering what my cymbals are:

Mostly Byzance.

14 Medium Hi-Hat
16, 18, 20 medium crashes
21 Medium ride
13 Fast Hat on remote
10 FX hat on remote
8 and 10 splashes
14, 12 (with jingles), 10 Filter Chinas

Ignore the pedal. It's some no-brand piece of crap that I'm using while I'm waiting for my Trick Bigfoot to arrive.

The specs on the drums are:

22x17.5 BD
14X5.5 SD
10X8, 12X9 TTs
16X16 FT

As I said I'll be adding to the kit. I'm not sure if I should get a 14x14 or 18x16 floor tom. I'm also considering buying a 20 or 18 bass drum to mount as a Gong drum. And when I have the second 22 bass the toms will come off the bass and be mounted on a 600 series double tom stand. It's gonna be very cool when I have everything.

Drooling yet? Drum porn. Hmmmmm.

When you get the entire thing up, how about a panned shot and a drivers view??

the finish looks really nice man. how much did it cost you for the shells?

When I get the rest of the kit I'll do some real good pics. By then it will be a monster...even without the cymbals! But they'll be in the next pics. Watch out for that update.

Where I'm from these shells go for around two thousand Euro. I got a good enough deal on them. But usually here in Europe Sonor costs a good bit less than in the USA. I'm assuming you're in the states.

The finish on this kit is sooo cool. Its even better when you see it in person. And under lights it looks amazing!

ahh i think it looks pretty ok man.. and nah sonorplayer i'm in the UK. that's a pretty good price :)

Well, I don't care much for the wood finishes in the S Classix line. I'm not big into wood finishes in general...but if I was going to get a Sonor kit in a wood finish it'd have to be the gloss wood finishes in the Delite Series. But I'd rather my drumkit didn't look like a coffee table. I like a solid color, or a fade, or a sparkle of some kind.

Each to their own I guess.

The pics don't really show how cool the finish actually looks when you see it in person.

Anyway, what's important is that SOUND! And these sound f*@#ing amazing!

There's only one draw back to playing Sonor drums...they're so good that every other kit you play you'll say 'Well...I guess it's good, but it's not as good as my Sonor.' If I ever want a better kit I'll have to move up into the Delites or SQ2s.

Man, those are sexy. Ludwig and Sonor make the best looking lugs on the market, IMO.

And, Sonor is so rebellious with their 17.5" bass drum length. In your face, de-facto industry standard!

BE-U-TI-FULL!!

That finish is just pure beauty. Congratulations on that one!

thanks guys! i love them!

can't wait to get the extras. by the way, has anyone ever played four up, one down?

since i'm adding to the kit i'm not sure if i should go Simon Philips on it! I'm wondering what could be gained by adding a 13x10 and 14x11 over the second bass drum. I like the idea of have those extra tones...but I've never played a kit of that size...is it too much?

If i went four up the final set-up would look like this Delite kit. A different finish of course.

I know what you are saying. I play a Force 2007 and it sounds crazy. I'll surely buy a S Classix for my next kit. A Sonor for sure.
