E kit Bass pad as practise pad?

hey there
i recently bought a practice pad for my double pedal but it is of miserable quality and i was thinking about buying a bass drum pad of an e kit to practice
does anybody have experience with this? do you think such a pad would survive daily practice of 30 minutes for a very long time? what do you think about this idea?
this would be concrete bass drum pad

thank you

what pad were you using? as you can see from my other post im looking at getting a bass drum practice pad and am looking for feedback on them.

I've seen people simply take their double bass pedals off their kits and placing a pillow or a ruck-sack filled with some soft stuff in front of their double-bass-baters - this gives you less bounce than the real head and therefore it's supposed to make your legs to give it all they've got. Don't charge at me - this is what I've been told ;)

i am currently using the HQ PERCUSSION RFBASS BASS PEDAL PRACTICE PAD, which i bought online at www.thomann.de (german site, but i think they do supply other countries as well)

it is pretty good but the problem is that the pad itself is completely useless after 1 or 2 weeks daily practice, like this i already got two new pads sent!

konaboy do you have experience with this pad? it looks very good, the price too, but will it stand my daily practice?

concerning the pillow technique i think i will start a new thread in the technique section, but thanks for the advice

only played on one at the store a few times. Can't comment on it's durability.

I use the pad konaboy has highlighted..

No issues with it's durability and it'll be a hell of a lot cheaper than the e-pad you're considering.

dunno man.. i'm using an electric kit, but yeah they're definitely good for practicing. if you really want to push the boat out then get a 'half size' one. bigger than roland but smaller than a full size 'hybrid' kick would be. you can see what i mean if you look at the stealth range on jobekydrums.co.uk
