Hello, im wondering what equipment do i need to start my own home recording studio thing for my drums. Right now all i have is a lap top what else should i get. I know you need mics but some times it sounds good without them please help.

What you need to do is go to Guitar center or Sam ash , and talk to someone who knows what they are talking about. You could spend up to thousands of dollars or as little as a couple of hundred. I would start with some cheaper recording software . I started out with Mixcraft 4 from acustica its about 60 $ and very user friendly. If you have a Mac use Garage Band very user friendly. Behringer makes decent mixers starting at 200 or so. You might want to start as far as drums go, using Kick snare and 2 overhead condencer mics.
I hope you can find someone who knows there stuff and can help you, and not just sell you a bunch off needless crap. Good Luck.

Presonus Firepod interface (comes w/software)
1- Shure SM57 mic for the snare
1- Shure Beta 52 for the BD
2- Shure KSM109 for overheads
Cords & stands

Total price should be under $1000 used from eBay.
