Ok this will be my last vid for a while and probably the last cover I'll ever upload. But here it is for anyone who fancies having a watch...

"I didn't realise until now how many drummers on youtube have put up this song so apologies for uploading yet another one! On the other hand though I guess there's a reason for it...it's a great track and a great drum track by one of the greats... Dave Grohl.

Having had a quick listen to some other drummers uploads though (the ones I've come across anyway) they're all playing on top of the original drums so this version is different in that respect. I've always thought drumming on top of an existing drum track as cheating a little so this version (as with the other covers I've put up) is minus the original drums and just the sound of the Ekit (on this occasion triggering Toontracks 'Rock Solid' pack).

If you fancy having a go yourself I found all the stems here on youtube which you can shove into your DAW. (see below)

Very nice job.

I've just started working on this tune with my band. It's a deceptively difficult song because it's so fast. I've been struggling with the tom / hi hat rolls, getting them to be accurate.

Yes it is deceptively difficult....particularly from a stamina point. The constant 16ths in the verses is an absolute killer on the arms if trying to play with some power. I was absolutely knackered by the end of it :)

If you listen to the link I sent of Dave's original drums you can hear exactly what he's doing with the toms, etc. I didn't play exactly the same fill wise though I don't think. Just took it as a reference.

Thanks for that link. Meytal Cohen did one of her video covers of the tune, and it's very good for being able to watch her play it live clearly to see what she's doing as well.

Yes I saw hers too.. it's the first one that shows up if you for search it. Was having a look at her other vids too.. she's a great player!

On the downside though she is playing on top of the original drums which I don't like. It is far more interesting to watch than my vid though with all the camera angles, etc. I purposely keep my vids with one shot from start to finish to prove it's a full take... mistakes and all. The downside of that is it's boring to watch! :)
