Happy Birthday Max!

Max wold have turned 90 today.

WKCR fm 89.9 in New York is playing / streaming nothing but Max till midnight.
 
My favorite, saw him at the club Blackhawk ( San Francisco) with Ray Draper. Booker Little don't remember the bass player, a kick ass group. Tried to copy his playing, got just alittle bit.
 
I don't know how many 15 year olds in 1994 considered "Study in Brown" to be their favourite album, but that was me...

and Max Roach was (is) my favourite drummer.
