a fantasy band thread you will be the drummer but who would you have to play in your band?

ill go first.
Drums: me
Guitar 1 Matt Bellamy (Muse)
guitar 2 Jack White (White Stripes/Raconteurs)
bass Les Claypool (Primus)

i think id have to have all 3 of them sharing vocal duties though, its a tough decision otherwise :p

dead people allowed :p

On Guitar: Alex Lifeson

On bass: the late John Entwhiste would be my 1st choice, but since he has passed away, Joey Vera.

Keys: Kevin Moore.

Vocals: Devon Graves from Dead Soul Tribe.
Or Ray Adler of Fates Warning
Or Lars Eikind of Before the Dawn.

Do I have to be the drummer? Because I'm definitely not qualified to play with my dream team. :p

This is the group I'd put together, not just for their talent and style, but also for their song writing and composition. Also, I think they would complement each other really well.

Fiona Apple (vocals, keys)
Eric Clapton (guitar)
Jimmy Page (guitar)
John Paul Jones (bass)
Dave Grohl (drums)

Yea I'd rather not be the drummer... 2-3 months of experience would make my dream band a nightmare.

Maynard James Keenan (vocals)
Mikael Akerfeldt (guitar and vocals)
Randy Rhoads (guitar, if dead people are allowed)
Geddy Lee (bass and occasional keys)
Danny Carey (drums)

It's tempting to put Les Claypool on bass... but he's too... overpowering. Every band he's in sounds like Primus (not that that's necessarily a bad thing).

i never said dead people wernt allowed :p

Sounds like Fantasy Football, heh.

Vocals/keys: Serj Tankian

Guitar: Mick Thompson(sp.?)

Bass: Scott Pilgrim

Drums: Myself, of course.

My band wins against all yours.

My dream band:

Guitar and bass and drums (me) from my early 80s band:

And sax player from a later incarnation of the band:

Plus the singer from my current band:

I mean, c'mon ... even discounting a few of minor mortality issues Will Calhoun, Jaco, Jeff Beck, Josef Zawinul, Michael Brecker, Miles, John Lennon and Joni Mitchell (with Jesse Garon dancing) aren't going to start up a band on my behalf :)
