So that K Con wasn't dry enough for you huh? We have a 22" Med. Thin Low in at my work and man is it a beautiful cymbal, so much wood and wash, but it's so controlled.

Lovely kit, the natural Yammies are killer.

I bet it sounds as beautiful as it looks.

Lovely kit and nice cymbals! Don't you think a fiberskyn front head would be the cream of the crop? Why do you use diplomats as resos? How does it affect the sound compared to the standard ambassadors?

Thank you!
It would probably look nice with a front fiberskyn too but I'm a proud Yamaha user :) I like their logo. About the diplomats as resos.. I don't see why you think it's strange, they are very common to use as reso.
"The Clear Diplomat® is Remo’s brightest, most open sounding head due to its single layer of 7.5-mil Mylar® film. They’re known for their bright tones, resonance, and sustain and as resonant (bottom) heads opening up the sound of tom-toms."

really really stunning kit.

Always had a thing for the high end yamahas, and its the first place i'd look should I ever get the money to do so. Having almost finished my dream cymbal setup, its possible a new kit might come sometime in the future.

Enjoy it, youve earned it :)

I also like the logo :)
About the resos, it's just that I haven't even considered changing the stock ambassador and thought maybe you had a specific reason for switching to diplomats. How did it affect the sound compared to the stock heads?

Ah okay, I actually never played with the stock heads so I can't answer that :). But it will sure make you're drums sound better because the heads you get with the kit are rarely any good. Especially if you have a high end kit, you will most certain hear a difference.

Just listened to your tracks on your MySpace... absolutely enjoyed them. Were you using the Yamahas on those tracks? Also, if that was the same ride that "wasn't dry enough for you", I would say you got it exactly right in my opinion. Cheers!

Thank you!! On the samba track I'm using this kit with a K pre-aged dry light ride. On the balkan (or what one should call it?) track I'm using a Tama kit that my school had, and using my K-custom special dry ride.

Very very classy. Your cymbal choice is as classy as the kit. Mette you have very discerning tastes.

A while ago I had the distinct pleasure of producing a recording where the drummer played such a kit. After tuning and micing it was as if the kit EQ'd itself. Stunning recording drums.

I really love that finish, makes it look very classy. Great choice in cymbals too. I'd love to see or hear some demo's of this kit :)

I just can't believe it... My two dream kits in one room with a load of (not my fav but always ;)) high end cymbals... Porn indeed... I'm jealous of these Yamahas...
And by the way, how do you like the 13" snare? To me they're too tight to be the main snare, just interested in your opinion :)

Thank you for the kind words!
You're right about the snare, I'm actually looking for another one. But I find it pretty good for jazz, it's really sensitive and great for accents.

Yeah, I agree. Actually, I have Black Panther 13x6 Maple Cherry, so I suppose it may have a bit fatter sound, but anyways it's going to be my second snare. I aim in either Pearl Free Floating Maple 14x6,5, Black Panther Birdseye Maple 14x6,5 or Yamaha MAnu Katche Sig. You should try them too. :) cheers from Poland
