Are good thrones recommended?

For those who use backrests, do you lean on them while playing? I could never see the point of them because I am always on the edge of my seat. There's not enough time in between songs to lounge away on it...For practice I could maybe see it. But even though I have very little padding on my butt, with the R&S tractor seat....no discomfort at all.

I would get a Carmichael just from the glowing reviews I've heard.

I got a roc n soc recently.

The one they sent me had dodgy fabrication, but they sent me a replacement seat base and now it's all good, no wobbles in the seat and the cushion couldn't be nicer.

Someone told me that they really noticed it when they went back to a cheap throne, and I discovered the same thing. The hard throne I used to practice on now hurts me, I've been spoiled.
