Yamaha Power V Special Edition made in England

Hey guys,

So i thinking of buying a used yamaha power v special edition from 1994.

I wanna know if it is a good purchase because imagine i need to buy a part of the drum kit for exame, a tom or bassdrum... I dont think they sell it anymore...

Opinions please.

Re: Yamaha Power V Special edition made in england

Long since discontinued. Haven't been made since the early 1990's.

They were made when Yamaha owned Premier drums, which ended in 1995.

They also didn't sell very well at the time due to the Pearl Export and Tama Rockstar being similar quality, but at lower price point than the Yamaha, and due to their similarity to rather popular (at the time) Premier ABK and XPK lines.

They were replaced by the first generation of Stage Customs.

So as far finding adds ons, forget it.

But for a decent entry/intermediate drum kit, they're not bad by any means.

Re: Yamaha Power V Special edition made in england

I'm a Yamaha guy (currently own 3 Yamaha kits). I once bought a Power V floor tom used to round out a kit I was selling. My bad. The shell was such poor quality that I trashed it and sold off all of the hardware to get my money back. I coudn't even bring myself to sell the intact drum to anyone else. That's how poor it was. Stay away. I would buy anything over a Power V kit. Seriously.
