Electronic drum kit under £500

Hi all,

I need to get an electric drum kit so that I can practice for a lot longer and for when I go away to uni. Basically i have £500 and only £500!! What is the best electric kit i can get for under this price? I have headphones, sticks and a stool so just need the actual kit. I was looking into second hand on ebay as well but don't know if this is a good idea as it's used electrical things :/ ...? Thank you very much,

Well, firstly, I wouldn't worry about second hand as long as you try it out first, there are no moving parts as such so as long as its been looked after it should be fine. There are parts you can replace cheaply if they are worn anyway.

If you want to get something new, go for the yamaha DTX500k, however if you fancy second hand theres always the yamaha DTXpress.

As far as Roland go second hand would be the way to!

Try looking at other smaller brands, they may not be as durable or as good as the others but you might just get more for your money!
