Roland SPD-SX tap tempo

Hello.

I recently bought the Roland SPD-SX. This sampling pad is really powerful, and although I'm still learning how to use it efficiently, I can see it being very useful in the future. I do have one issue however.

One of the main reasons I bought the pad was for it's internal metronome. With this metronome, has anyone else also found the tap tempo function does not work very well?

It only plays the correct tempo after 3/4 bars of tapping the tempo. Is there any way around this, other than always using a pre-defined tempo?

I use the tap tempo and mine works pretty quick. I get the new tempo with 3 or 4 hits. (not bars).

Getting certain samples to work with the new tempo is another issue. Most samples work perfect while some(just a few) of them will go to half time or double time.
