Last album you listened to that really blew you away

Periphery - Periphery

Same here. There's just something about this band that reminds me of Protest The Hero, only with more emotion and more techno-ish stuff. lol.

But anyways my shortlist of albums that blew me away (recently) are:

Porcupine Tree - Deadwing
Porcupine Tree - Fear Of A Blacnk Planet
Dream Theater - Systematic Chaos
Tool - 10,000 Days
The Dave Matthews Band - Big Wiskey and The Gru Grux King
City & Colour - Sometimes
Miles Davis - Kind of Blue

And this list goes on but this is all that I can think of at the moment.

Last album you listened to that really blew you away:

The very last album I fully listened and toll myself, that's the album of the year was Living Colors - The Chair In The Doorway. Absolutely fantastic...absolutely tasty, absolutely delicious.

Seems a while ago now but nothing has come close and I still love this album

Opeth - Watershed

For me absolutely amazing album and the first Album I got of these guys.......

Saw them live and superb

I must add these albums, that I always listen and really enjoy lately:

White Zombie ---> La Sexorcisto.

Judas Priest +++ Angel of Retribution.

Nine Inch Nails ~~~ [WITH_TEETH].

Been a while since an album 'blew me away', yet the most recent one was Epica Divine Conspiracy. A nice mix of orchestra, choir and speed/death metal.

I quite liked that album, there are a few videos of them recording it in the studio on youtube.

I really liked- Wynton Marsalis - The Magic Hour and Neil Young - On The Beach and Sonny Rollins - A Night At The Village Vanguard :)

In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth 3 by Coheed and Cambria blew me away.
Also Fever, the brand new album from Bullet for my Valentine is really good too!

For me the last albums that i have really been into are:

Living Sacrifice- The Infinite order

Alice In Chains- Black gives way to blue

Mastodon- Crack the sky

What did you think of Obzen? I remember really getting into Messhuggah but I found a lot of their stuff became a bit the same after a while.

ObZen is really quite different from their other albums, much darker, heavier and mind-bending.

I understand if you say that the other Meshuggah stuff sounds the same, especially Nothing.

Obscene + Zen = ObZen

Lazarus by Hacride really dominated the past year for me. Nowadays Dozer's Beyond Colossal is drawing my attention more and more, even though I've been listening to it since last summer.

Gong - YOU

blows me away every time I listen to it - great drums, great sax, great percussion... bass.... guitar.... synth....

Flying Lotus' just released Cosmogramma just gets better with every listen.

Them Crooked Vultures is the latest one.

But also,
Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not
Screaming Females - Power Move/What If Someone Is Watching Their TV?
The Black Keys - Thickfreakness
Foo Fighters - The Colour and the Shape
Led Zeppelin's Discography blows me away.
