Bands that are better live

Certainly the old and current incarnations of the Allman Brothers Band and the Dead, given that they are very much live improvisational bands. A saw the ABB at the Beacon this march for their 40th anniversary and saw the post-Garcia dead a couple months ago at the Verizon center and they were both very good. What did they have in common? Warren Haynes. Great guitarist.

Good call on Ozomatli....much better live.

I think U2 are incredible live, and the Allman Brothers since Derek Trucks
joined the band are really great live. I saw the Allmans a couple of times
in the 80's and they were a bit of a mess....although there was a 22 minute
drum solo one night.

Glad to see they're getting recognition. Also, the guy who called Ben Harper and Jack Johnson were spot on. Following that type of artist/group of friends, G. Love is sooo cool to see live in a small place. Cover of Walk on the Wild Side into Can I Kick It? was amazing.

Yes, (probably the best concert I have ever seen)

Motley Crue is incredible
Triumph
Godsmack just kicks.

I remember seeing some pretty crappy ones to and the 1st band that comes to mind is the Cars, man they could have been lip synching for all I know, never said 2 words to the audience.

Also Bush was baaaad. They sounded like they were playing in slow mo.

Umphrey's McGee.. if you know the band then you know how sick they are live. You can't beat a good Jimmy Stewart

Muse, awesome live and on recordings
