Heavy metal songs using the 'money beat'

Hello Drummerworld, it has been far too long since I posted on here. I'm looking for some new music to get my fix.

If you are a heavy metal type of guy, you'll know what I'm talking about... heavy songs that utilise the money beat at a slow or mid-tempo, crushing riffs and pinch harmonics.

There's something about these types of songs especially with the money beat that give them an intensity that lacks with a lot of modern bands.

As an example check these out,

Dream Evil 'Heavy metal in the night'
http://http://youtu.be/Kea6suUaWjQ

U.D.O. 'Vendetta'

Please help me out folks and post some song suggestions, I would greatly appreciate your help!

Cheers folks.

1. AC/DC = Hard rock, not "heavy metal".
2. People still use the term "heavy metal"?? (Granted, maybe when describing Priest, Sabbath, Maiden, etc).
3. I'll go with Metallica's "Orion" for my fave money beat, mid-tempo, crushing riff song.

Yours Sincerely,
The Metal Police

Gotcah. Sorry, and whats the fine?
I've seen all those 'metal' documentaries, the term becomes grey to me.

$20,000!! ; )
The music was indeed called heavy metal around it's inception (hence why I mentioned those early metal bands) but these days it's mostly just referred to as "metal" (along with it's 50,000 sub-genres of course)!

Megadeth, Symphony Of Destruction

Check out Mike Novak's stuff with Every Time I Die. Their album "The Big Dirty" has a lot of that type of very simple but effective heavy drumming. Not a straight money beat the whole way through, though.

Pretty much every Judas Priest song Dave Holland appeared on.

Hahaha yeah I'm the world's biggest Priest fan to start with! They kick-started my love for heavy metal.

I guess I may be one of only a few people that still appreciates the sound of classic metal in modern form and yes I still use the term 'Heavy Metal'. Bands such as Judas Priest, Saxon, Sabbath, Dio, U.D.O./Accept.

I suppose what I'm looking for are modern bands that play music in the vain of classic 'heavy metal'.

Thanks for all of your suggestions though.

NerfLad: Thank you for the suggestion, I will definitely check those out as I've never heard of them!
