SPD-S - Foot Switch

Guys! Hello from Caracas, Venezuela! I have the following question: I own a Roland TD-3 set, this Edrum has a HiHat controller, i.e. the FD-8. I need to know if this controller could be used as Hihat controller or foot switch for the SPD-S, any help? If this is not the case, do the bass drum trigger works? I need to produce sounds with my foot while playing live. All answers are welcome!

For you're purpose of use, you need a kick trigger. Than you have one trigger input left (like a snare trigger or extra pad)
