Is it possible to get 2 single pedals from DW9002 ?

I"ve been looking at DW's website and unfortunately it doesn't look possible. When they came out with the 5002 back in the mid '90's with the delta hing all you had to do was take the beater out of the holder on the BD and put it in the slave pedal and whala 2 independent pedals. I can see with the say the pedal is designed why you can't but still dissappointing.
