Songs/Bands With Booze Content

In addition to a bunch that have already been mentioned, here's a couple more that my old band My Favorite Drunks used to play. A lot of these are really, really great songs.

Liquored up and lacquered down - Southern Culture on the Skids
Raise hell, drink beer - Eleven Hundred Springs
White lightning - George Jones
Drink Canada Dry - David Allen Coe
Honky Tonk - Faron Young
My Bucket’s Got a Hole in it - Louis Armstrorg
My Drinking has saved your life - George Thorogood
tanqueray - Dr. Feelgood
I drink - Blake Shelton
She keeps me guessing - Eddie Burns
Sangria Wine - Jerry Jeff Walker
Locked inside a liquor store - Dash Rip Rock
Beer barrel polka - traditional
The bottle let me down - Merle Haggard
One more shot - Dr. Feelgood
Spill the wine - War
Drink drank drunk - Atomic Fireballs
The liquor dance - The Iguanas
Half the bottle down - Shilelagh Law
There’s a tear in my beer - Hank Williams
Daddy Yar - Frantic Flattops
Have a drink ya bastards - The Skels
Longneck bottle - Garth Brooks

and last but not least (and I can't believe no one's got this yet):
Margaritaville - by whatshisname

One that I play (on guitar) when appropriate. Jimmy Buffet - "Let's Get Drunk and Screw". I guess this one's a two-fer. :)

Show me the way to go home, I'm tired and I wanna go to bed
I had a little drink about an hour ago and its gone right to my head

"Jack" by AC/DC which while about STD, also doubles as an ode to Jack Daniels.

It's 'The Jack'...not sure I'd want to conflate those two things and never heard of any Jack Daniel's connection...

I would have to submit Alestorm and Lagerstein to this list for obvious reasons.

Chumbawumba - Tubthumpin
Sublime - 40 oz's To Freedom
Pretty much every song on NWA's Straight Outta Compton and Niggaz 4 Life
Most of 2pac's songs
Hell, most hip hop really
Rupert Holmes - Escape (The Pina Colada Song)

Ah Tubthumpin. He drinks the whiskey drink,he drinks the vodka drink,he drinks the lager drink,he drinks the cider drink.

"One Bourbon, One Scotch and One Beer" - George Thorogood

Originally written by Amos Milburn who also recorded:
"Bad, Bad, Whiskey"
"Thinkin' And Drinkin"
"Let Me Go Home, Whiskey"

John Lee Hooker has a pretty good version of the soon too.

Two from Elton Hercules John

Goodbye Yellow Brick Road - ...a couple of vodka and tonics to put you on your feet again.
Saturday Night's All Right For Fighting - Want to get a belly full of beer

All the bands of the 70-80 had booze content I thought? No, no my mistake I realize it was just me. I could drink Elton John under the table. LOL. I couldn't play pool without being smashed. Weird eh.

Titties and beer - Frank Zappa
DDAMM (Drunk Drivers Against Mad Mothers) - Slayer
Demon Alcohol - Ozzy Osbourne
