it all went very well

turns out the band leader invited a woman friend up to sing that number

the only vocal on the evening and it was great, she blew the roof off

he threw me a chart of his arrangement and I just stirred the soup in 3/4, followed the changed, embellished where I saw fit , and honestly the band sounded like we rehearsed for hours the night before

gotta love those situations, you meet these cats on the bandstand then make music together like you grew up with them

by the end of the night you are brothers.
