Wow, this Blog is over 10 years old... Stumbled upon today. I'm 69 YO, play drums now after a 50 year Hiatus, in retirement for fun and pleasure to My Music: CCR, Petty, Mellencamp, Stones, Beatles, Kinks, Zombies, Clapton, Doobies, Animals, etc.,,,, at least I try to... I have arthritis in my left hip, both knees, and lower / mid / upper back. I keep pitching, but it does curtail me. I was thinking to start playing a double bass pedal , since it is hard for me to make real bass drum double strokes due to my limitations. I need long boards style (using a Long Board pdp direct drive single pedal now (works for me pretty well); size 13 shoe. I can't do Heel to Toe. I simply rest my heel down and play in that manner. Any recommendations from you folks...? Oh , for me at least, I wish there was a Heel playing pedal. I am able to more rapidly raise and lower my heel due to the physical stuff from the back discs that can cramp the shin muscles. SUX to Get Old....
