drum mics - set or singular buying?

I'm always one for quality over quantity, so I would buy better mics singly as opposed to buying lesser quality as in a package deal. I'm not familial with Samson, so I really can't comment on their products. Good microphones are an investment, so buy one, two or three at a time as you can afford them. Buy a good quality mic for an overhead. Next would be a good bass drum mic. After those two, a snare mic, then keep adding tom mics and another overhead until you have what you need.

Hello,

I prefer singular buying.
Most packages are equipped with cheap overhead microphones or none of them.
My first choice was a D 112 for Kick Drum, then two M 201 TG for Overheads (and later - after an upgrade - for Snare Drums or Tom Toms). Now I bought a M 88 TG für Kick Drum, which is also usable for vocal, so the small individually selected package is more versatile.
The sound is old fashioned, but professional.

Cheers,
Jürgen
