hahaha, this will be a really long description.. hahaha

the drum itself is a mixture of different mapex series...
Toms:
8" V Series
10" Orion Series
12" V Series
13" V Series
16" V Series
18" Saturn Series
Bass Drum V Series
6, 8 and 10 rototoms

Snares:
1. 14x5.5 V Series Mapex
2. 14x6.0 Black Panther Babilonian Ancient Sound Snare (Special Edition)
3. 14x6.5 Black Panther Bird's Eye Maple Snare

Respect to the tune, I have my V Series Mapex in its highest possible sound, so to imitate a sort of a picolo snare. I use it for funk mainly. The Eye Maple Snare, is in a low tone in the hitting drumhead, but with high tension in the resonant, so to give a nice rocking sound. The Babilonian Ancient Sound Snare, I have it almost always as a secondary snare at the left of the hi-hat, in a middle range between both snares. I usually use this snare together with the rototoms, as if it was an other drum set, the fills that i make with my toms when using the primary snare, i make them in the rototoms, just to give a change in the tone of the drumming, but keeping the same structure. Maybe in the future I will get a real picolo, of course I'll try to get a Black Panther, so to continue the tradition, haha.

Looks good, how about a drivers seat picture? Quite an amount of cymbals you have there as well.
 
Nice one mate, Chris Adler would be VERY proud to see that much mapex owned by one man! Nice little pair of racist snares you've got there too :)

The cymbals are great, I BET the K custom hybrid is your favourite crash, those things are beautiful. Bet they sound as beautiful and rich as they look too. The 802 ride is quite interesting. Most people on here seem to have some cheap old paiste cymbal lurking somwhere inside their drumkit.

Yeah, the K Custom Hybrid is my favorite crash. But believe it or not, the Paiste 802, is one of the best rides i've ever used. it is 100% rocker, with a high pich bell and nice sustein in the edges. however, whe i want to play something more jazzy, or maybe latin or funk, i use the 22" K Custom High Definition Ride. My opinion on cymbals

As a personal opinion, respect to cymbals, with all the brands and series i've tried, i've never found anything as the K Custom Hybrid. However, the 18" A Custom Crash, which is on top of the 13" tom, is really similar, respect to sustein, pitch, fall, etc. So i started to investigate why. I have a catalog of all the cymbals that Zildjian sells. And I saw that all the crashesI really like, where either Thin or Paper Thin. The K Custom Hybrid, the A Custom Crash, The K CUstom Fast Crash, the K Custom Dark Crash. And even i started testing crashes with bigger thickness. That helped me to corroborate my idea. A frind bought an A Cusotm Projection Crash of 18", trying to imitate my 18" A Custom crash. there was an abismal difference between his crash, which was Medium Thin, whit mines, which was Thin. Of course, im not saying that it wasn't a good cymbal. it was perfectly capable of make his part on a rock tune. However, i believe it would be impossible to make it sound well on a jazzy of blussy song.
So basically what I recommend, to what it comes to Zildjian, because I don't tend to like other brands, I don't know if it is because of proud or what, haha, but i believe that for crashes, and hi-hats, the thinner the cymbal the better its sound. Of course, if we leave the power of the sound apart, because for example, when comparing a Z Custom Projection Crash to a K Custom Fast Crash, there is an inmense different. I belive that when it comes to play on well equiped stages, the power is no longer an issue, because the volume can be adjusted with the mixers, so a K Custom can be used for playing wither Jazz, blues, or even metal. However when playing with no amplification with the drums, the volume becomes an important factor, and when playing strong types of music, it is needed a strong type of cymbal, as the Z Custom, of the AAX of Sabian. And here is where a problem appears in both ways. Many drummers appear with heavy cymbals, which have an enormous volume, which cannot be properly adjusted to the music that is being played. In the same way, some drummers take small cymbals, of 13 o 14" to gigs, where they need large volume but they have no micros, so they abuse the cymbal capability. That is why I'm a big fan of large amounts of cymbals. U have a precise cymbal for a price moment or a precise song. It is not about playing all the crashes for making more noice, but to play each on at the exact moment, with the exact strenght and the exact style.

Interesting take on things. However i do think that if you do play rock and metal, heavier cymbals really add to the sound in ways simply turning up the volume can't, they add the powerful mids that you simply don't get with thinner cymbals with or without any sort of amplification. I used to be the proud owner of a Z custom projection crash and i can tell you that i have never ever heard another cymbal that sounds anything like it. A lot of drummers probably hate that sort of sound but i think as a crash ride sound for heavy rock and metal music it just fits in so well. I don't play latin and jazz music, so i simply don't need any other sorts of sounds. However, for crashing i like to use lighter cymbals such as medium to give me a bit of a faster decay but still with a quite powerful midrange sound that cuts through the music so well.

Nice opinion. The problem with heavier cymbals, for my playing, is that I play almos every single type of music, the lsat year I;ve been participating in shows of: Rock, Metal, Funk, Blues, Jazz, Pop, "Murgas porteñas" (a type of music from argentina and uruguay), "festejos" (a type of music from peru, really good), Big Band Jazz, etc. So I need cymbals that can adjust to all of these types. Perhaps a heavier crash will be usefull with rock and metal, and maybe for funk, but for jazz, pop, latin music, afroperuvian music, it simply does not fit.

Well i mean that's just it really, it's all about what sort of music you play. I agree that thinner cymbals are more versatile for different types of music but if you specialise in rock i don't really think you can beat something with a bit more balls.

Me? I'm from 'ull! A small port city on the east coast of northern England (it's on my location).
 
Probably next week I'll be recording some rocking songs with a friend, that asked me the favor. I'll pass them to u... u will like them

More than the drums, i love my cymbals... It is so nice to seet down and have a world to choose. The only one that I don't really like, because it does not fit in many of the types of music I play, is the K Custom Dark Crash of 14". So im planning to sell it to buy maybe a K Custom Hybrid of maybe an A Custom
