Yamaha Dtx 12 Multipad

Hi!

I have looked everywhere about this but cant find it:..

How long (minutes) soundsamples can i trigg and play on a yamaha dtx
12 multipad?

about a year ago I did quite a bit of research between the M-12 and its Roland counterparts. I ended up purchasing Roland.

it's been awhile, but if my memory serves me correct, you only have 64 mb of available space to store sample files. Add to that, I believe you cant play samples that are longer than 4-5 seconds in length. This will be fine if all you want to do is to fire off small one shot samples...(i.e. hand claps, quick vocal parts, etc).

But again, I don't own the Multi and only have about an hour playing around with one in a music store.

From the DTX12M manual:

Waves Readable quantity 500
Bit depth 16 bit
Wavememory 64 MB
Maximum size
Mono sample: 2 MB
Stereo sample: 4 MB
Sample formats Proprietary, WAV, and AIFF

If your main concern is sampling, go with the Roland.
I use my DTXM as a portable kit, using mostly the stock sounds, modified a bit.
