Sitting in a cubicle for 8 hours a day sucks. My back hurts from sitting too much and the more I do the more I realize how much government money we waste on crap. By the time people get to a level where they can go something about it, they don't care anymore. I hate the fact that I spend all day and expend all my energy into something that has nothing to do with my life. I hate that I can't get a better gig because I have no flexibility in being able to gig. I can't leave early on Fridays to get to a club, or take a couple of days off to go to a casino gig. I'm thinking about quitting and trying to gig and give lessons. We could live on what my wife makes but it would be tight. I'm just not sure I want to be that irresponsible. I also don't want to be this miserable for the next 30 years until I retire. By then I will be too old to gig much.
I have always found it strange and actually terrible that offices in America consist of bloody cubicles treating workers like drones. I don't think any other country in the world has that system, offices here have the desks of workers directly put next to one another, so that human communication is at least possible.
Don't be a drone in the system. Be yourself with whatever you do, you're not doing anyone a favor with this. Quit your job man.
